Hi there, it’s me, Ann, the face behind the camera. I just wanted to take a second to tell you a little about me. I’ve always loved art, I graduated for Maryville University with my Bachelor in Fine Arts in 1998 (Go Saints!!!). I love creating things, whether it be painting, crafting or cooking. I always have several projects going on at one time. I’m married and have an 8 year old daughter. My husband is a Diesel Mechanic and owns his own shop. He’s taught me many things about running a successful business and how to keep dreaming bigger. Our daughter is so much like me already. She loves making things too and loves photography. I’ve got a crazy 2 year old Dudley Labrador named Rudy (aka Rudy Patooty or Rudy Rudester) and a cat named Carlos Ramond. As a family we love camping and hanging out at the river with our friends.
For those of you have been to my studio for a session, I’m sure you have noticed it’s a pretty old building. It was built in 1901 and was originally a Kroger Grocery Store (how cool is that). When we gutted and remodeled it in 2011 we found grocery orders from the 1930s stuffed up in the ceiling. Just so you know when you buy a building that old, it’s quite the undertaking. We fully remodeled all 3 floors and updated all electric and plumbing, so I could have my dream of opening my own studio. When I first opened I always joked I’d never be able to fill it up and it looked so bare, now I joke it always looks like a prop explosion inside. I’m constantly learning and evolving as a photographer and artist. I’ve been creating my own newborn props for and a while and I plan to start selling them under a new business we’re calling “Sugar Pie Boutique”. I’ve always like making things and find that many of our clients ask where things in the sessions come from, so I decided to start offering them through Sugar Pie Boutique (look for more information about it soon). People always ask, what makes you different than other photographers? I’d have to say the relationships I form with my clients is what makes me different. I feel like so many of my clients are now my friends. I have families that I’ve photographed for years and I have photographed so many milestones for them that I can’t help but to feel connected to them. I also think what makes me different is that I almost always have an assistant helping me. If you’ve had a session with me, you’ve most likely met Jackie or Kim. They are amazing and I couldn’t do what I do without them. I feel like having an assistant for sessions helps everyone feel more relaxed. Let us chase the kiddos down, fix your hair, make sure everyone is looking, etc. Let us take the stress off you so you can enjoy your session. So my short little about me was a little longer than I planned but thanks for taking time to read it. If you are in the market for a portrait session, call, email or message me and we’ll get you on the calendar.
